Full Time Role

We are seeking a talented individual to join our platform team. The role suits an individual that is self-motivated, an eye for detail, and a proven track record in software quality assurance and test automation.

About the role

The role requires a combination of manual and automated test skills. We take a pragmatic view and where possible work to automate as many UI and API tests as possible with the aim of building out a reliable regression suite which can be used in the release process. 

Responsibilities 

  • Early engagement in the requirements phase to ensure “testability” is considered from project inception
  • Create project test plans and strategies as required
  • Develop and execute manual tests on the Cyclr platform
  • Develop and maintain an automated UI and API regression test suite
  • Spend approx 60% of time on manual tests and 40% on test automation code
  • Support junior members in reviewing manual tests and automated test code
  • Lead regular root cause analysis sessions to identify problematic areas and plan how additional test coverage can be applied
  • Investigate applicability of new tooling and processes to the QA function
  • Help with future recruitment 

Required skills 

  • Automated testing frameworks (e.g. TestCafe, Mocha, Cypress, WebDriver, etc)
  • Experience in Node.js programming or similar high level languages
  • Knowledge of Jenkins or similar automated build tools
  • Use of version control systems such as GIT
  • Experience of working with REST API tools such as Postman
  • Experience of working in an agile software development environment and use of tools such as JIRA

Desirable skills 

  • TestCafe and Mocha experience preferable 
  • Prior SaaS integration experience
  • Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Azure and GCP
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Able to query and update databases such as MySQL
  • ISTQB certification at foundation level

  • Work closely with Customer Success and other departments, such as sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure a fantastic customer experience.
  • Stay updated with Cyclr news and industry trends.

Required skills 

  • Either a computer science degree and/or accreditations, or practical work experience in a technical environment.
  • Interest in web technologies with knowledge of JavaScript and JSON.
  • A team player who can communicate well with our Platform and Connector development teams regarding both support issues and documentation.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

    • Take ownership of our ever-growing multi cloud/multi region hosting services.
    • Come up with fresh ideas around improving efficiencies and security within the business and to our external partners. 
    • Put in place and maintaining best practices around monitoring and alerts to our hosting services.
    • Provide technical support to other departments both internally and to external partners. On some occasions you be required to speak with external partners IT departments. 
    • Configure and apply regular security patching and maintenance within agreed SLAs both within AWS And Azure.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, identifying root cause and implementing effective solutions. 

 

Required skills 

  • 5+ years hands-on DevOps experience in using the AWS cloud platform.
  • Solid demonstratable experience in networking and best practices on securing those networks.
  • Expert in Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tooling. 
  • Proficiency with scripting and/or coding languages such as python or c#.

    • Working with the development teams to maintain and enhance tooling around DevOps principles including CI/CD automation.

  • Maintain code libraries and documentation.

 

Required skills 

  • 2+ years hands-on DevOps work experience.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills such as PowerShell, Python or bash.
  • Familiarity in code CI/CD tooling and methodologies (Jenkins and/or Octopus deploy would be a bonus).
  • Knowledge of alert and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog.

Our team works across multiple locations. As a result, we live in Slack and video chat to plan, organise, report, test, and generally ensure the smooth progress of projects. You should be able to collect, process, and summarise complex data into effective communication.

About the role

As a junior engineer you will be an integral part of the team. You will be responsible for the ongoing support and development of a large amount of cloud environments. You will gain exposure to working with a range of tools and will need to able to work in a fast-paced startup environment that deploys production changes several times a day. 

Responsibilities

    • Oversee regular security patching and maintenance to our infrastructure ensuring it is completed within agreed SLAs both within AWS And Azure.
    • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, identifying root cause and implementing effective solutions. 
    • Come up with fresh ideas around improving efficiencies and security within the business and to our external partners. 
    • Working with the development teams to maintain and enhance tooling around DevOps principles including CI/CD automation.
    • Put in place and maintaining best practices around monitoring and alerts to our hosting services.
    • Provide technical support to other departments both internally and to external partners.
  • Maintain code libraries and documentation.

 

Required skills 

  • 2+ years hands-on DevOps work experience.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills such as PowerShell, Python or bash.
  • Familiarity in code CI/CD tooling and methodologies (Jenkins and/or Octopus deploy would be a bonus).
  • Knowledge of alert and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog. 
  • Proficiency with the Windows and Linux operating systems and experience with setup and management of at least one of those systems.
  • An organized and methodical approach.
  • Great communication skills.
  • A self-motivated individual capable of pro-active problem solving.

Desirable skills

  • Containerisation technologies with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tooling. 
  • Ability to query SQL data.
  • Excellent knowledge of Git.
  • Previous experience in startups and scaleups that move at a fast pace.

Salary

£30,000 – £40,000 per annum depending on experience.

Location

We welcome candidates from across the Southeast and have offices in East Croydon and Brighton that our staff can access anytime, alongside the flexibility to work remotely where appropriate. In addition, we hold quarterly team days and expected all employees to attend.

Working hours

Our core hours are 9-5, Monday-Friday but we are open to flexible working requests.
